Robinhood Fernando Cariño Padilla or simply known as Robin Padilla (born November 23, 1969,Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino action star who has played gangster roles in movies including "Anak ni Baby Ama", "Grease Gun Gang" and "Bad Boy 2".

He is the younger brother of actors Rustom Padilla, Rommel Padilla and Royette Padilla.

Career

He appeared in "Tulak ng Bibig, Kabig ng Dibdib". He then opted out of his exclusive contract with Viva Films and was allowed to do movies for other film outfits including Star Cinema Productions, FLT Films , Millennium Cinema and GMA Films. His other films include Jeannie... Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang, Hari ng Selda: Anak ni Baby Ama 2, Tunay na Tunay: Gets Mo? Gets Ko.., Ooops... Teka Lang Diskarte Ko To, Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw, You And Me Against The World, Videoke King, Buhay Kamao and Pagdating Ng Panahon with Ben Suelto.

Padilla crossed over to television via the ABS-CBN comedy show "Pwedeng-Pwede". He starred in the daily action-drama series, "Basta't Kasama Kita". In 2005 he did two movies: the horror thriller "Kulimlim" and the comedy "La Visa Loca". He received Best Actor honors in the 2006 Urian Awards.

Padilla was a contract artist of GMA Network and starred in the TV series Asian Treasures. He has also signed a two film contract under GMA Network's film outfit GMA Films; first was Till I Met You, the second one was the horror-suspense Sundo.

Padilla, an anti-malaria advocate since 2004 appealed for media support for his cause against the disease in the press briefing of Department of Health's Movement Against Malaria. As MAM spokesperson, he engaged television networks in the campaign for the use of mosquito nets.

Padilla flew to Turkey to attend a conference concerning the Liwanag ng Kapayapaan Foundation, a free preschool he built for Muslim children in Quezon City, which opened in 2007. On September 15, 2007 he donated 2.5 million Philippine pesos to the Muay Association of the Philippines.

On 2009, Padilla was cast in the title role of "Totoy Bato", which was an adaptation from a novel by Carlo J. Caparas.
He hosted in the noontime show "Pilipinas Win na Win".

Personal life

Padilla was born to Carlos Roy Padilla and Eva Carino. He has 7 siblings, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
He converted to Islam and married Liezl Sicango in a Muslim ceremony at the New Bilibid Prison social hall. He was pardoned and released in 1998 by Fidel Ramos.

He has four children with Liezl, a son named Ali and three daughters Queenie, Kylie who are actresses and Zhen-Zhen.[4] He also has a son named Mico to actress Jobelle Salvador[5] and a daughter named Camille Orosa, a model and aspiring actress, with Leah Orosa former model. He owns a house at posh Pines Ville Street, Greenview Executive Village, Barangay Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City, where thieves stole his Motorola cellular phone and a 357 Luger, a German-made handgun loaded with 6 bullets, on May 3, 2008.

In 2009, Padilla announced that he has been divorced from his wife Liezl Sicangco for two years and that Sicango has a new husband in Australia.

On August 19, 2010, Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez were married in The Taj Mahal in India. Padilla and Rodriguez had met during his stint as a host of Wowowee.
